Our Love Story
From Ireland to South Africa
FIONA: 🌍 In the spring of 2015, a life-changing journey commenced when I entered the corridors of Smartbox Group. Fate gracefully guided me toward a tall, mysterious Polish gentleman, whose captivating, flowing locks held an enchanting allure. 🖇️
Little did I foresee that in a mere 802 days, a passionate and unforeseen kiss at Elys would steal my heart, as Michal convinced me to remain when the world had moved on. While Michal insists it was spontaneous, I knew he had been trying to lay on his charm for a while. 👩❤️👨
MICHAL: 📕 Our love story reads like a classic fairy tale, with its origins at Fiona's first day at a new job. Over three years, we worked closely together and enjoyed numerous nights out with colleagues, discovering a shared love for adventure, travel, and spending time with family and friends. ✈️
Our differences only added to the charm of our connection, and I came to respect and think of Fiona as a friend.
With time, rumours started circulating at work about the two of us being together.
We brushed aside the rumours with amusement.
FIONA: 🍻 Leading up to this transformative night, Michal and I shared countless evenings, and I confided in him about a match making service I had signed up to which involved 3 different dates in the hope to find love.
The evening after my first matched date, Michal seized the moment with an unforgettable kiss ensuring I never got to go on the remaining 2 dates, a cherished memory in our love story.
He never did reimburse me for the other dates I missed.
MICHAL: 🤫 We kept things under wraps, our secret love affair.
Eventually, both fed up with the uncertainty we sat down in a rooftop bar overlooking Dublin and embarked on a profound conversation, weighing the possibilities of a shared future, deciding to make our love official. 🍸
MICHAL: 🛫 We went to Cape Town with Fiona for Christmas in 2018. When we were there, I wanted to get an idea for her taste in engagement rings. 💍
I used the excuse of getting her earrings for Christmas to go around jewellery shops and while looking at earrings I also was asking her about which rings she liked "HA HA".
We actually came across one which she really liked, so I got her to go in "for fun" and try it on etc. We ended up buying her earrings there, and I took the card from the sales rep who was showing us everything. 💎
When we came back to Ireland over few months I arranged to order the engagement ring from Cape Town, ship it to Fiona's sister in the UK (they couldn't send to Ireland) and have her brother who was travelling to visit the sister in the UK bring the ring back to Dublin. 💍✈️
Then, for Fiona's Birthday we planned a trip to Paris, and as Moulin Rouge is her favorite movie, but she has never been to the actual Moulin Rouge I got us VIP tickets and planned to propose to her there.❤️
FIONA: The main reason I loved that ring is because they said the setting of the ring is a protea flower - which is the National flower for South Africa and I also had proteas as my bouquet 💐 for our mini wedding then 😍
Since that moment, our journey has been filled with adventures, an elaborate engagement proposal, navigating life's challenges and herding 2 little girls. 👨👩👧👧
Our story continues to unfold, with a new chapter leading us towards our upcoming wedding, one we look forward to writing with our guests. ✈️

Wedding Theme!
Our wedding will embrace the dazzling Moulin Rouge theme. Given the weather, cocktail attire is recommended for comfort. However, for those wishing to fully dive into the theme, feel free to dress in Moulin Rouge-inspired attire with touches of gold, red, or black!
